800+ Immigrants Mistakenly Granted Citizenship

Update: The numbers of immigrants mistakenly given citizenship are higher than first reported.

More than 1,800 individuals naturalized who should have been deported from the country.

The number of individuals who were supposed to have been deported but were instead granted citizenship is far higher than was initially reported by media covering the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General’s office report on the matter…

A reason for the underplaying of the number may have been the report’s focus, which was whether the US Citizenship and Immigration Services was using digital fingerprints effectively. The Inspector General determined that the agency granted citizenship to 858 individuals who had been ordered deported or removed under another identity but “their digital fingerprint records were not available” during the naturalization process.  CNN

Indefensible.  Truly, a mistake or incompetence?

” the immigrants used different names or birthdates to apply for citizenship…their fingerprints were missing from government databases”

Incompetence.  This establishes the  incompetence of the DHS to vet immigrants.

This is the bunch to trust vetting the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees both Obama and Hillary have brought into the U.S. and plan to bring more into the U.S.?

The U.S. government has mistakenly granted citizenship to at least 858 immigrants from countries of concern to national security or with high rates of immigration fraud who had pending deportation orders, according to an internal Homeland Security audit released Monday.

The Homeland Security Department’s inspector general found that the immigrants used different names or birthdates to apply for citizenship with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and such discrepancies weren’t caught because their fingerprints were missing from government databases.

At least three of the immigrants-turned-citizens were able to acquire aviation or transportation worker credentials, granting them access to secure areas in airports or maritime facilities and vessels. Their credentials were revoked after they were identified as having been granted citizenship improperly, Roth said in his report.

A fourth person is now a law enforcement officer.AP

“credentials were revoked” Why was their citizenship not revolved!
