Germany’s anti-Islamic PEGIDA movement said it has cancelled a planned march on Monday, citing a death threat against organizers from the Islamic State jihadist group.
“Cancelled! Dear friends, unfortunately we must cancel our 13th meeting due to security concerns,” the group “Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the Occident” said on its Facebook page on Sunday.
“What in police jargon is called an ‘abstract threat’ has changed to a ‘concrete death threat’ against a member of the organising team. IS terrorists have ordered his assassination.” France24
In the eastern city of Verviers, Belgium police killed two men, wounded one, and arrested another on Thursday night during a counter-terrorism raid against a group federal prosecutors said was about to launch “terrorist attacks on a grand scale”. The suspects had recently returned from Syria.
Coming a week after Islamist gunmen killed 17 people in Paris, the incident heightened fears across Europe of young local Muslims returning radicalised from Syria. But prosecutors’ spokesman Eric Van Der Sypt said the Belgian probe had been under way before the Jan. 7 attack on French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
A third man was detained in the eastern city of Verviers, where police commandos ran into a hail of gunfire after trying to gain entry to an apartment above a town centre bakery. All three were citizens of Belgium, which has one of the biggest concentrations of European Islamists fighting in Syria.
Other raids on the homes of men returned from the civil war there were conducted across the country, Van Der Sypt said, adding that they were suspected of planning attacks on Belgian police stations. Security had been tightened at such sites.
“The searches were carried out as part of an investigation into an operational cell some of whose members had returned from Syria,” he said. “For the time being, there is no connection with the attacks in Paris.”
Describing events in the quiet provincial town just after dark, he said: “The suspects immediately and for several minutes opened fire with military weaponry and handguns on the special units of the federal police before they were neutralized.”
Oxford University Press (OUP), one of the biggest education publishers in the world has warned its authors not to mention pigs, sausages, or anything that could be perceived as pork-related in their children’s books to avoid causing offence. This is ludicrous and offensive.
The Oxford University Press has warned its writers not to mention pigs, sausages or pork-related words in children’s books, in an apparent bid to avoid offending Jews and Muslims.
Speaking on Radio 4’s Today programme, presenter Jim Naughtie said: “I’ve got a letter here that was sent out by OUP to an author doing something for young people.
“Among the things prohibited in the text that was commissioned by OUP was the following: Pigs plus sausages, or anything else which could be perceived as pork.
“Now, if a respectable publisher, tied to an academic institution, is saying you’ve got to write a book in which you cannot mention pigs because some people might be offended, it’s just ludicrous. Telegraph UK
“A spokesman for the Jewish Leadership Council added: ‘Jewish law prohibits eating pork, not the mention of the word, or the animal from which it derives.” DailyMail
Brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi died in a gun battle at the printworks near Paris. Amedy Coulibaly , a suspect in the killing of a police woman, with his girlfriend Hayat was holding hostages in a kosher market, he also died when police raided the the market in eastern Paris. Four hostages were killed in the kosher market before French police went in.
France24 reported, Coulibaly “is thought to have converted to Islam and become radicalised while in jail, where he met Cherif Kouachi between 2005 and 2006.” The girlfriend of Couibay, Hayat Boumeddiene, described as armed and dangerous, is still on the run. Four hostages were killed at the kosher market. All three dead terrorist were born in France.
For too long European leaders increasingly have succumbed to the idea of multiculturalism, certain that their Muslim populations would assimilate into European society. That they have not and have turned hostile to their host countries is an indictment of the failure of multicultural polices.
If the attacks in Paris “have nothing to do with the Muslim religion” then why won’t Muslim leaders say so too?
Even if mainstream Muslims disagree with the means used by terrorist and would not carry out such an attack, they usually agree, with the ideology behind it and support and applaud the attacks. That is the problem. The hostility against the West, equality, women, freedom of speech, tolerance, Christianity, Judaism, Democracy, and Israel is the root of the problem. The root leads back to the ideology of Islam.
Terrorist attacks on the West and Israel are celebrated and the terrorist held as heroes in Islamic regions. The Muslim mainstream needs to stand up and stop accepting and celebrating killers the horrific Islamic violence will continue and spread.

Update: Seven people have been arrested over the Charlie Hebdo massacre as two ‘armed and dangerous’ brothers with links to terrorist groups going back at least a decade today remained on the run. Hamyd Mourad, 18, turned himself in to police.
A huge manhunt is under way in Paris for masked and hooded armed with AK-47s who stormed the offices of the satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo, injuring many people and killing 12 people – including two policemen and eight journalists – before escaping in a car. Witnesses described hearing cries of “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great”) during the attack.
The three suspects in the attacks on French magazine Charlie Hebdo have been identified as two brothers and a third man. French police say the brothers are Said and Cherif Kouachi. The brothers are in their early 30s, are of French nationality, and reside in Paris…The third man, Hamyd Mourad, is reportedly homeless and 18 years old from Reims. The two brothers trained in Yeman.
Five killed in the Paris terrorist attack have been named: editor Stéphane Charbonnier and cartoonists Jean Cabut, Georges Wolinski and Bernard Verlhac. Also killed, Bernard Maris,an economist and writer who contributed to the magazine.
Charlie Hebdo in 2006 reprinted cartoons of the prophet Mohammad originally published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. The magazine Charlie Hebdo satirized religious people, politicians, and current events; receiving threats for years from Islamic’s. The White House slammed Charlie Hebdo in 2012 for publishing cartoons with a “figure resembling the prophet Muhammad”.
In 2012, Charbonnier, also known as “Charb,” told Le Monde he was “not afraid of retaliation. I have no kids, no wife, no car, no mortgage. It may come off as a bit arrogant but I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees.”
Charlie Hebdo highlights freedom of expression to explain his editorial choices.“If we begin to ask the question whether we have the right to draw or not Mohammed, if it’s dangerous or not to do, the question will be from” are we can represent Muslims in the newspaper? “and” are we human beings can be in the paper? ‘”says RTL Charb, publishing director.“At the end, it will represent nothing, and the handful of extremists who are agitated in the world and France will have won. I do not call them Muslim purists to read Charlie Hebdo, as I would not go to a mosque to listen to speeches that violate what I believe,” said Charb”. Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (PEGIDA) started weekly protests in the city of Dresden in October. 17,000 demonstrators took to the streets in Dresden on December 22nd, the movement has been growing steadily with regular Monday demonstrations that continue to worry German officials.
Worryingly for Germany’s leaders, a Forsa opinion for “Stern” magazine last week revealed that one in eight Germans would join an anti-Muslim march if PEGIDA organised one in their home town.
In an unusually strong-worded New Year’s day address, Merkel said: “Today many people are again shouting on Mondays: ‘We are the people’. But in fact they mean: You do not belong – because of the colour of your skin or your religion.”
“So I say to everyone who goes to such demonstrations: Do not follow those who are appealing to you! Because too often there is prejudice, coldness, even hatred, in their hearts.”…
OECD figures published in December demonstrate that Germany received 400,000 immigrants in 2012, a figure that makes Germany Europe’s biggest immigrant destination.
The next demonstration is scheduled for January 5th, when Germany’s famed Cologne Cathedral will go dark to protest the PEGIDA rally.
France’s 75 percent super tax expires at the end of this month and unsurprisingly it will not be renewed. In 2012, President Francois Hollande imposed a 75 percent “super tax” on earnings over 1 million euros ($1.2 million) in France. It was not a popular move.
The tax actually raised little extra money and did little to offset France’s 84.7 billion euro budget deficit.
The Finance Ministry estimates the proceeds from the tax amounted to 260 million euros in its first year and 160 million in the second. That’s broadly in line with expectations, but tiny compared with a budget deficit which had reached 84.7 billion euros by the end of October.
This calculation does not include lost revenue from individuals and companies that left France for the U.K. Belgium, and Russia (actor Gerard Depardieu moved to Russia). It also does not include the lost revenue from those that did not locate businesses in France due to the high tax rate.
Under high taxes France has an unemployment rate of over 10 percent and an economy that has been described as ‘sickly.’
Hollande and his government have since sought to relieve business of around 40 billion euros of taxes and other charges, as unemployment at over 10 percent drives home the urgent need to attract investment to the sickly French economy.
“Disenchanted German citizens and right-wing extremists are joining forces to form a protest movement to fight what they see as the Islamization of the West. Is this the end of the long-praised tolerance of postwar Germany?”
Germany is the world’s second most popular destination for immigrants. In a current Spiegell poll 34 percent of citizens agreed that Germany is becoming increasingly Islamicized. The number of right wing protests in Germany are on the rise nationwide. In Dresden protests are staged each Monday with the number of citizens taking to the street increasing. “The group, which calls itself Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West (and goes by the German acronym PEGIDA), demonstrates against economic migrants and a supposed “cultural foreign domination of our country”
German officials have become alarmed. “But the interior ministers failed to develop a convincing plan to effectively combat the problem. ‘We cannot label 10,000 people as right-wing extremists. That creates more problems than it solves,” says Saxony Interior Minister Markus Ulbig, a member of the center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU). According to Ulbig, there were many “middle-class citizens” among the Dresden demonstrators, “and you can’t toss them all into the same Neo-Nazi pot.'”…
The demonstrators aren’t exactly making it easy for German authorities. Since the riots in Cologne, they have generally taken great pains to avoid committing prosecutable offences during the weekly protests, or being seen as too obviously in league with right-wing extremists.
The United States, Canada and Australia are helping Israel to pressure Switzerland and other states to thwart the conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions. “The Fourth Geneva Convention on the Rules of War was adopted in 1949 in a response to Nazi atrocities” since then it has met only twice, in 1999 and 2001, both times to deal with Israel. It seems the Geneva conference only applies to Israel.
Israel blasted Switzerland on Thursday for calling a special meeting of the High Contracting Parties of the Fourth Geneva Convention next week, which is expected to severely censure Israel for its actions in the West Bank and Gaza.
Switzerland, the Depository of the Fourth Geneva Convention, summoned the meeting following a request put forward by the Palestinian Authority after it joined the convention in April, following the breakdown of the US-backed Israeli-Palestinian negotiations… JPost
Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today issued the following statement regarding the decision to convene a conference of the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions:
“Canada has conveyed its deep concerns and has communicated clearly that it will neither attend this conference nor lend it any credibility.
“Canada is deeply disappointed by the convening of this one-sided and politicized conference, which serves only to single out one country, Israel, for criticism. Canada has complete faith in the strength of the rule of law in Israel, and we believe the Israelis are capable of investigating matters surrounding the events that took place in Gaza in the summer of 2014.
“This conference risks undermining the integrity and credibility of the Geneva Conventions and the neutrality of their application.
“Such a misguided approach will neither serve the cause of peace nor bring the parties closer to a negotiated settlement.” Canada Foreign Affairs
A creepy faceless doll has launched in the U.K. that is sharia compliant-faceless. That doll is wiping all of femininity away and saying to girls ‘you are nothing’. A girl receiving this type of doll can not relate to that unless she relates to nothing.
Although, how many girls would draw a face on that large white area and then get her doll thrown away?
“The face is an orchestra and the mouth its virtuoso soloist. A smile speaks a language older than any other and makes you marvel at the world playing out in the mind behind. One answers a smile with a smile. A smile is a gift I granted the woman in the park. A gift she could not grant me. How sad for her. For both of us. Or, perhaps, behind the veil, she did smile. If so, that smile was a poet shut away in a tower.”
From “Behind the veil – How the burqa is wiping the smiles off our faces” Read the essay by by Anson Cameron at Gates of Vienna
A new ‘Islamic doll’ with no facial features has been launched in Britain. The ‘Deeni Doll’ has no eyes, nose or mouth whatsoever in a bid to comply with Islamic rules governing the depiction of faces.
The doll was manufactured in China and designed in the UK by Ridhwana B. She told us: “I came up with the idea from scratch after speaking to some parents who were a little concerned about dolls with facial features.
“Some parents won’t leave the doll with their children at night because you are not allowed to have any eyes in the room.
“There is an Islamic ruling which forbids the depiction of facial features of any kind and that includes pictures, sculptures and, in this case, dolls.
“I spoke to a religious scholar in Leicester who guided me through what was and what was not permissible when producing the product. “The Deeni Doll has no face on it whatsoever and is Shariah compliant.”
The doll itself retails at £25 and, whilst it may not be the first of its kind in the world, it is thought to be the only one produced to such a high quality.
Ridhwana, a former teacher at a Lancashire Muslim school said: “The whole process took over four years from start to finish. Asian Image
Richard III -DNA shows he was not legit king show he was not. It is a 99.999% probability that the 15th-century skeleton found under a parking lot is Richard III. Analysis of the DNA suggest Richard III was blue eyed and 77% probability that he was blond as a child and his hair darkened during adolescence. The analysis has thrown up a surprise: evidence of infidelity in his family tree.
Their analysis shows that DNA passed down on the maternal side matches that of living relatives, but genetic information passed down on the male side does not.
However, given the wealth of other details linking the body to Richard III, the scientists conclude that infidelity is the most likely explanation….
Investigation of the male genealogy focused on the Y chromosome, a package of DNA that is passed down from father to son, much like a surname. Most living male heirs of the 5th Duke of Beaufort were found to carry a relatively common Y chromosome type, which is different from the rare lineage found in the car park remains.
Richard III and his royal rival, Henry Tudor (later Henry VII), were both descendants of King Edward III. The infidelity could, in theory, have occurred either on the branch leading back from Henry to Edward or on the branch leading from Richard to Edward.
Henry’s ancestor John of Gaunt was plagued by rumours of illegitimacy throughout his life, apparently prompted by the absence of Edward III at his birth. He was reportedly enraged by gossip suggesting he was the son of a Flemish butcher.
“Hypothetically speaking, if John of Gaunt wasn’t Edward III’s son, it would have meant that (his son) Henry IV had no legitimate claim to the throne, nor Henry V, nor Henry VI,” said Prof Schurer.
