Venezuela’s Currency Is So Worthless, They’re Weighing It Instead Of Counting

Venezuela is a great example of socialism and what a failure it is.

Venezuela’s money is so worthless that shopkeepers have reportedly taken to weighing it instead of counting it out.

Venezuelans can’t fit enough money to buy goods into their wallets, so they stuff bundles of cash into bags that are weighed by shopkeepers.

Humberto Gonzalez, who runs a delicatessen in the country, uses the same scales to weigh cheese.

Venezuela’s inflation rate is at more than 808 percent, according to Forbes, and the country’s economic czar doesn’t even believe in inflation. Venezuela is essentially bankrupt and faces massive shortages of food and products. To make things even worse, the nation is widely regarded as one of the most corrupt countries on Earth and may have the world’s highest murder rate. DailyCaller

Venezuela, Iran, USA, Drug Traffickers, And Terrorism

Venezuela the socialist paradise is a state imploding and collapsing.  It is a nightmare for its citizens and a threat to regional and U.S. security.

Amidst the unspeakable economic distress facing residents of Venezuela today, security experts have identified yet another major cause for concern emanating from this once prosperous, oil-rich nation: Iran is moving in, partnering with Venezuela’s prosperous drug traders and creating a foothold there, as well as in other “friendly” Latin American countries. Iran is laundering money in Latin America and presumably secretly plotting to accomplish a strategic long-term goal topenetrate the Western hemisphere.

Iran’s terrorist activities, its partnership with Venezuelan drug traffickers and the general criminal atmosphere affects the citizens of Caracas so much that people reportedly are fearful of even going to the store to wait in the endless lines for food.

In Venezuela, security analysts say, the corruption starts at the very top with President Nicolas Maduro himself, who is looking frantically for money in every crevasse to keep the nation and his presidency afloat. Reports estimate that in Venezuela one police officer dies every day and the number of homicides per capita in Caracas is the highest in the world.

National crime statistics, however, seem to be just the start: deeper and more alarming than the Venezuelan homicide toll, there appears to be an imminent threat to the entire Western hemisphere from partnerships between Venezuelan drug traffickers and terrorist networks likeHamas and Hezbollah, two groups that act a proxies for Iran.

Together, terrorism and illegal drugs represent a significant export for Venezuela. Iran and Venezuela partner together to move terrorist cells and drugs to hubs in the United States and throughout North America.  Gatestoneinstutute

Venezuela Socialism Utopia, Babies In Cardboard Boxes

newborns-in-boxes-venezuela

A brave Venezuelan doctor, at Las Garzas hospital, anonymously sent photos of newborns in boxes to opposition lawmaker/Congressman Manuel Ferreira.

Venezuelans can no longer get their hands on 80% of basic goods (food, medicine, etc). Hospitals and heath clinics are no exception.

A dozen eggs was last reported to cost $150, and the International Monetary Fund “predicts that inflation in Venezuela will hit 720% this year. That might be an optimistic assessment, according to some local economic analysts, who expect the rate to reach as high as 1,200%. GatestoneInstitute

Venezuela’s economy was destroyed by Hugo Chavez’s Utopian Socialist experiment.

For 20 years, Venezuela’s economy was gradually destroyed by ‘Chavismo’, an authoritarian form of Socialism that wrecked the private sector with mass nationalization and regulation. DailyMail

‘Chavismo’ has plunged the country of Venezuela into a nightmare of extreme poverty.

Current Venezuela President Maduro refuses outside help, blames Saudi Arabia, the United States and others for the problems in the country and continues with proven failed policies and philosophies.

Efforts to convince Maduro to enlist help from outside have failed, according to a report in the Catholic magazine, Crux:

Maduro has refused to accept help from international charitable organizations, including the Vatican-sponsored Caritas Internationalis, which through different affiliates has tried to send medicine and food.

“Denying that there’s a crisis and refusing to let the world send medicine and food is not possible,” said Cardinal Jorge Urosa Savino, archbishop of Caracas.

The prelate believes that Maduro is refusing to accept help in an attempt to hide the “very grave situation of total shortage,” which far from improving, he said, continues to deteriorate. GatestoneInstitute

‘Why shouldn’t we enjoy ourselves just because the country is burning?’  DailyMail

Oil-rich Venezuela was once a prospering nation that is now in a death spiral, except for a small group of political elite.

Socialism is not an effective economic system.

“The trouble with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

Margaret Thatcher said of the British Labor Party:
I think they’ve made the biggest financial mess that any government’s ever made in this country for a very long time, and Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other people’s money. It’s quite a characteristic of them. They then start to nationalise everything, and people just do not like more and more nationalisation, and they’re now trying to control everything by other means.”  GatestoneInstitute

Progressive leftist in America are eager to have, more government regulations and  more government control of stuff.  A government that can not even run an immigration system.  A government that initiates and forces with lies a failing healthcare system on Americans.

“Chavismo,” a left-wing political ideology that favors nationalization and social welfare programs over free market development. PBS

This is what progressive leftist are eager for,  an ideologue that creates extreme rates of inflation, rising crime and murder rates, allegations of corruption, starving people, lack of medicines in hospitals and heath clinics, and newborn babies in a hospital in boxes instead of nursery bassinets.

A second Olympic boxer has been accused by a housekeeper in the athletes’ village of sexual assault.

Rio de Janeiro police say Namibia’s flag bearer has been arrested for sexual assault, four days after another Olympic boxer was accused of sexually attacking two housekeepers in the Olympic Village.

Authorities say a housekeeper told police she was assaulted by 22-year-old Jonas Junius, a boxer who competes in light-middleweight division. Junius was set to fight with French boxer Hassan Amzile on Thursday. ABC12

The arrest of Junius follows a similar incident last week, when boxer Hassan Saada from Morocco was arrested on sexual assault charges.

Socialism Fail: Venezuela Bakes $65,000 Cake To Honor Dead Dictator While Citizens Starve

venezuela-cakeLet them eat cake!

As Venezuelans starve and grocery store shelves stand bare, its government has spent tens of thousands of dollars to bake a massive cake for the birthday of dead dictator Hugo Chavez, according to Venezuelan press.

La Patilla, a popular news website in the country that often writes in opposition to the socialist government, is reporting the more than 200-pound cake is built as an “architectural replica” of Chavez’s mausoleum.

Socialism, the ideology of equality? Nope.

Indeed, it seems the ruling elite was able to get access to obscene quantities of ingredients, which the news website estimates altogether cost more than $65,000 or 650,000 Bolivars (the Venezuelan currency).

La Patilla reports the cake was made from 720 eggs, 44 gallons of milk, 50 pounds of butter, 200 pounds of flour and 200 more pounds of sugar. Twitchy

Socialism: Venezuela Has A New ‘Forced Labor’ Law That Can Require People To Work In Fields

Nicolás Maduro, President of Venezuela

Another socialists utopia descent into a gulag; despotism and mass slavery.

International human rights activists are complaining that new laws have introduced forced labour in Venezuela.

“A new decree establishing that any employee in Venezuela can be effectively made to work in the country’s fields as a way to fight the current food crisis is unlawful and effectively amounts to forced labor,” Amnesty International said in a statement released on Thursday.

President Nicolás Maduro signed a decree at the end of last week that gives powers to the labor ministry to order “all workers from the public and private sector with enough physical capabilities and technical know-how” to join a government drive aimed at increasing food production.

They can be required to work in the agricultural sector for a 60-day period that can be extended for another 60 days “if the circumstances require it.” […[

The latest decree states its aim is to “guarantee food supply, social justice, and democracy,” and claims it is necessary as “a defense against the economic war.” It comes at a time when President Maduro is also struggling to hold off efforts by the political opposition to force a referendum on whether he should remain in office. Venezuela’s Humanitarian Crisis

1 meal a day.  Children’s growth stunted.

Death rates are soaring as hospitals have chronic shortages of antibiotics, intravenous solutions, even food, reported the New York Times.

Heartbreaking!

Last summer, the Daily Mail reported how rampant opossums had infested the Luiz Razetti Hospital, killing 17 newborns.

That was just the start of months of misery at the center, according to the New York Times.  In just one day, the newspaper’s reporters witnessed the deaths of seven babies since there were no oxygen tanks [a blackout], and doctors had to pump air into their lungs by hand.   Daily Mail

Socialism always fails.

President Nicolas Maduro has refused attempts to seek international or monetary support for the country’s healthcare system that he says would effectively ‘privatize’ healthcare.

The socialist leader, Hugo Chavez’s successor, claims such a move would have devastating impacts on the country.

And he even insists Venezuela’s healthcare is one of the best in the world: ‘I doubt that anywhere in the world, except in Cuba, there exists a better health system than this one,’ he said…

Zika Virus Found In Saliva, Urine; Unclear If That Can Transmit Infection

From October 2015 to January 2016, there were almost 4,000 cases of babies born with microcephaly in Brazil. Before then, there were just 150 cases per year.

The suspected culprit is a mosquito-borne virus called Zika. Raw Story

mosquitoWhere did Zika come from?

Zika has a lot in common with dengue and chikungunya, another emergent virus. All three originated from West and central Africa and Southeast Asia, but have recently expanded their range to include much of the tropics and subtropics globally. And they are all spread by the same species of mosquitoes.

Until 2007 very few cases of Zika in humans were reported. Then an outbreak occurred on Yap Island of Micronesia, infecting approximately 75% of the population. Six years later, the virus appeared in French Polynesia, along with outbreaks of dengue and chikungunya viruses. Malaysian Insider

Zika has been identified in the saliva and urine of two patients infected by the virus, a leading Brazilian health institute said on Friday, adding that further studies are needed to determine if those fluids could transmit the infection.

Scientists at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, a public health institute, said they used genetic testing to identify the virus in samples from two patients while they had symptoms and were known to have Zika, the mosquito-borne viral infection that has sparked a global health scare.

It is the first time the virus has been detected in saliva and urine, scientists told reporters in Rio de Janeiro. The virus was deemed active, meaning that it was able to cause infection, but the scientists stressed that it was too early to say whether Zika could be transmitted by either fluid.

“That fact that the virus was found with the capacity to cause infection is not proof that it can contaminate other people through those fluids,” said Myrna Bonaldo, one of the scientists who made the discovery. NYPost

Texas Reports First Sexually Transmitted Case Of Zika Virus

mosquitoA person has been infected with the Zita virus through sexual contact.   A patient diagnosed in Texas became infected with the Zika virus through sexual contact.

The mosquito-borne Zika virus has been linked to brain damage in thousands of babies.  Microcephaly is the birth defect linked to the Zika Virus.

Microcephaly a medical condition in which the circumference of the head is smaller than normal because the brain has not developed. NIH

The first US case of the Zika virus has been contracted in Dallas County and was acquired through sexual transmission, local health officials said on Tuesday. The infection was confirmed by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The local health authority added that there are no reports of the virus being locally transmitted by mosquitoes in Texas county.

The county did not identify the person infected.

However a statement released by the Dallas County Health and Human Services said, “The patient was infected with the virus after having sexual contact with an ill individual who returned from a country where Zika virus is present.”

There have been six confirmed travel-related cases of Zika virus disease, all among residents of Harris County, where Houston is located, the Texas Department of State Health Services said.

In medical literature, there has been only one case of Zika transmitted sexually and one case in which the virus was detected in semen.

The World Health Organization declared Zika an international emergency on Monday over the explosive spread of the virus, which is linked to birth defects in the Americas.

There is no vaccine or treatment for Zika.  France24

Zika Virus Expected To Spread Across Americas

mosquitoThe World Health Organization expects the Zika virus will spread across the Americas except for Canada and Chile.  The virus is native to Africa and was first found to be spreading in the Americas in Brazil in 2015.  Currently there is no vaccine for it.

The mosquito-borne Zika virus, which has been linked to brain damage in thousands of babies in Brazil, is likely to spread to all countries in the Americas except for Canada and Chile, the World Health Organization said on Monday.

Zika transmission has not yet been reported in the continental United States, although a woman who fell ill with the virus in Brazil later gave birth to a brain-damaged baby in Hawaii.

Brazil’s Health Ministry said in November that Zika was linked to a fetal deformation known as microcephaly, in which infants are born with smaller-than-usual brains.

Brazil has reported 3,893 suspected cases of microcephaly, the WHO said last Friday, over 30 times more than in any year since 2010 and equivalent to 1-2 percent of all newborns in the state of Pernambuco, one of the worst-hit areas. Reuters

US Turns To UN To Screen ‘Refugees’ From Central America

border_patrol-USMexicoIn 2014 the U.N. pushed for Central American migrants to be called refugees.

United Nations officials are pushing for many of the Central Americans fleeing to the U.S. to be treated as refugees displaced by armed conflict, a designation meant to increase pressure on the United States to accept tens of thousands of people currently ineligible for asylum. FoxNews

Now the U.N. will conduct initial screenings, as the U.S. expands the program to let would-be migrants from Central America apply for refugee status before they attempt to come to the U.S.  The U.N. should not be screening and deciding who is eligible to come to the U.S. legally!

The Obama administration is planning to expand a program to let would-be migrants from Central America apply for refugee status before they attempt to come to the U.S., Secretary of State John Kerry said Wednesday.

The office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees will now conduct initial screenings to see whether migrants from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala may qualify as refugees eligible to come to the United States legally.

“I am pleased to announce plans to expand the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program to help vulnerable families and individuals from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, and offer them a safe and legal alternative to the dangerous journey many are currently tempted to begin, making them easy prey for human smugglers who have no interest but their own profits,” Kerry said in a speech at the National Defense University…

In December 2014, the U.S. began offering refugee status to children in those countries who have parents already living legally in the United States. So far thousands of children have applied for the program but very few been approved to come to the U.S.

The latest effort is aimed at expanding that program by moving applicants, both families and single individuals, into safe zones to await processing. AP

United States Has 10 Million More Foreign-Born Residents Than The Entire European Union

The United States has 10 million more foreign-born residents than the entire European Union, according to an analysis of United Nations and European Commission data produced by the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest.

10-Million-More-Foreign-Born-US

The analysis compared the number of people living in the U.S. who were born outside the U.S. to the number of people living in the E.U. who were born outside the E.U.

The U.S. population is about 320 million compared to the E.U. population of 503 million.  The subcommittee stated, “While the U.S. has almost 200 million fewer persons, it contains over 10 million more individuals born outside its boundaries.”

The analysis finds that one in 15 E.U. residents were born outside of the E.U., while one in 7 U.S. residents were born outside the U.S.

The total population of the 27-member European Union is approximately 503 million, compared to a total United States population of approximately 320 million.

Both the United States and the E.U. – particularly the wealthiest nations in the E.U. – are struggling with the economic and societal effects of unmitigated immigration. Yet, even though the United States has taken in nearly 11 million more migrants born outside its boundaries than the E.U. has taken in from outside its own, American politicians are pushing to increase immigration rates while many E.U. nations are pushing to reduce them. sessions.senate

Another analysis found that “the United States has admitted more people from outside its boundaries than 21 different Latin American countries put together and the E.U. combined.” sessions.senate

US-Latin-America

The United States resettles the largest number of migrants in the world, and provides more funding and benefits than any other country in the world and any other region in the world.  These are the facts: the U.S. contains about 4.5 percent of global population but hosts about 20 percent of the world’s global migrants.  As a matter of comparison, Latin America contains nearly twice as much of the world’s population – more than 8.5 percent – but houses only about 3.35 percent of the world’s migrants.  While the United States takes in one-fifth of global migrants, no other nation on earth has taken in more than one-twentieth.

About 1 in 40 of all migrants living in the U.S. today are from the Middle East or North Africa; however, that population has been rapidly growing.  More than 1 in 10 of the annual permanent migrants resettled in the U.S. is a Muslim migrant.  By contrast, only about 1 in 300 of all migrants living in Mexico today are from the Middle East or North Africa.  (About 1 in 7 migrants in Mexico hail from other Latin American countries, and about 7 in 10 migrants in Mexico are from Canada or the United States).   To provide further perspective: in 2010 there were 3,166 migrants from the Middle East living in Mexico; between 2001 and today, the United States has issued green cards to approximately 900,000 migrants from the Middle East and 1.5 million to migrants from Muslim countries.  Because it’s only a ten-year figure for the U.S., that means the U.S. has permanently resettled well more than 300 times as many Middle Eastern migrants as Mexico, for example. sessions.senate-Latin America
