Music Video: Ari Lesser – Boycott Israel

Jewish rapper Reggae musician Ari Lesser music video exposes the hypocrisy of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divest and Sanction movement.

Boycott Israel, if you think that’s just
But unless you have a double standard you must
Also boycott the rest of the nations

Happy Independence Day America!

Happy Fourth of July, HomespunVine readers! Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July.

You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.

Music Video: Revolution By Helly Luv

26-year-old, Kurdish pop singer Helen Abdulla – whose stage name is Helly Luv – was born in Iran.  Her family was forced to flee Saddam Hussein’s  rule in 1988  and lived in Finland after seeking asylum.  Helen moved to Los Angeles at 18 to pursue a career in music.  Her latest video was filmed in Iraq in Al Khazr.

“The song is called ‘Revolution’ and I call in it for Kurdistan and the countries of the world to unite to fight terrorism and injustice,” Helly Luv says in the National

“I want to show the world who the peshmerga forces are, and who Daesh is,” she says, using an Arabic acronym for ISIL that the group deems derogatory.

According to Nawzad Saleh, a peshmerga officer, in the days when they were mountain-based rebel fighters, singers sang songs encouraging them to fight.

“Now the Kurdish singers have begun singing for the peshmerga in other languages, and this is a beautiful step and will result in the world knowing more about who the peshmerga are,” he says.

Anti-Semitism is a global phenomenon and it is on the increase.  This year Canada’s Parliament unanimously adopted a motion condemning the rise of anti-Semitism around the world.  Members of the U.S. congress also launched a bi-partisan task force for combating anti-Semitism.
