Rubio opened his first round of questions to Friedman by referring to the confirmation process as “unreal” due to the amount of scrutiny Friedman is facing for prior statements. He then directed his attention to J Street.
Let me begin by saying I find this whole process to be unreal. This sort of ordeal you’re being put through to account for all the words, in particular given some of the groups that have been ratcheting all this up. This group J Street, that, for example, a few years ago invited the chief Palestinian negotiator Erekat to address their conference, a person who has justified the murder of Jews as self-defense, as a person as they invited to speak at the conference.
Rubio is absolutely correct. J Street, a Soros-funded anti-Israel group masquerading as the home for “pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans,” invited Erekat to their 2015 conference. Not long after attending their conference, Erekat called on the Palestinian Authority to support lone-wolf Palestinian-Arab terrorist attacks against Jews, called for rejecting a future Jewish state, and called for cooperating with genocidal terrorist organizations like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Rubio continued to target J Street:
This is a group who has routinely attacked people who hold my views, with content that I find to be a smear and a mischaracterization of our views. DailyWire

Have the French considered – stop taking in migrants and deport many of those in their country?
Paris authorities placed huge boulders under a bridge where asylum-seekers set up a makeshift camp, local activists say, claiming some migrants who are waiting to be resettled have nowhere else to go and have not slept for days. The makeshift migrant camp was reportedly set up in the Porte de la Chapelle area in the north of the French capital. The camp is in front of La Chapelle refugee center, which still is coping with the mass influx of refugees and apparently cannot admit everyone.
The makeshift migrant camp was reportedly set up in the Porte de la Chapelle area in the north of the French capital. The camp is in front of La Chapelle refugee center, which still is coping with the mass influx of refugees and apparently cannot admit everyone…
L’Express newspaper received a comment from the mayor’s office, which confirmed that it was its decision to place the stones “to avoid street camping.”
A volunteer from Solidarité migrants Wilson told the paper that she talked to migrants who lived under the bridge in La Chapelle.
“They are exhausted, they [are] cold, some have not slept since Friday, we are extremely indignant,” she said, adding that another makeshift center was set up in the area on Sunday. Others took refuge in the Porte de la Chapelle metro station, she added.
The number of refugees arriving in France, however, appears to be much more than the centers are able to host. According to Asylum Information Database, which collects data on the influx of migrants, over 85,000 people applied for asylum in France in 2016.
Many asylum-seekers from the Middle East, Africa, and Afghanistan travel to France in hopes of crossing the English Channel to the UK, often having had their applications rejected elsewhere, or in expectation of better prospects in Britain than in the rest of the EU. RT

Eagles seem to be the most effective way to intercept drones in cities.
The drones being targeted are small, weighing less than 2kg, and are readily available on the commercial market. Nevertheless, their use in sensitive zones – including during demonstrations and around airports – has led to accidents that prompted France and other countries to introduce restrictions on unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs.
The French army is using birds of prey to take down drones to protect its air bases as well as to secure public airspace in case a drone poses a threat.
Eagles were first used by the Dutch police force to intercept drones used by criminals and terrorists. Inspired by this success, the French military began training eagles for military programmes.
The pilot programme started last spring at Mont de Marsan air base in southwestern France with a team of four raptors – three females and one male. They are taught from a very young age until they become fully-trained at around 8 months, when they reach full maturity. The eagles used in France are bred using artificial insemination since eagles are a protected species and harvesting wild eggs is strictly forbidden.
Part of the training involves familiarising the eagles with the sight of drones. Even before they hatch, the eagles are surrounded by drones so they become part of their natural environment. Eventually they are taught to associate drones with being fed.
“A drone means food for these birds,” Gerald Machoukow, the military base’s falconer, told FRANCE 24’s Fanny Allard. “Now they automatically go after them.” France24

A Jewish group that organized a “Jewish Rally for Refugees” in New York on Sunday was massively funded by the federal government under the Obama administration to resettle refugees.
In attendance at the rally was Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), who used the platform to compare the Trump administration to the Third Reich. [….]
The New York rally was organized by the nonprofit HIAS, which describes itself as standing “for a world in which refugees find welcome, safety, and freedom.”
Unmentioned in much of the news media coverage about the rally is that HIAS has taken in large sums of federal grants to help resettle refugees. [….]
The Jerusalem Post described the organization as a “global Jewish nonprofit organization that works to protect refugees.”
Local Fox 5 simply labeled HIAS as “the global Jewish nonprofit.”
HIAS is more than that, as this reporter previously documented.
HIAS specializes in refugee resettlement and in 2015 received 65.3 percent of its annual $25 million budget from government grants.
Annual grants include funds from the State Department and the Office of Refugee Resettlement in the Department of Health and Human Services. Another major donor is the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
In 2015, the State Department provided $17,663,704 and the Department of Health and Human Services gave another $2,765,195.
So why did they drop the word “Hebrew?”
(No matter what their official line is, I’ll bet a buck that many Muslim refugees refused to be resettled by a “Hebrew” organization!) RefugeeResettlementWatch

National Security Advisor Mike Flynn said today “we are officially putting Iran on notice” after a missile test and an attack on a Saudi frigate that the Pentagon believes was an attack meant for a US warship.
“The Obama Administration failed to respond adequately to Tehran’s malign actions—including weapons transfers, support for terrorism, and other violations of international norms. The Trump Administration condemns such actions by Iran that undermine security, prosperity, and stability throughout and beyond the Middle East and place American lives at risk.”

Saudi Frigate Attacked
“A Saudi frigate on patrol west of the port city of Hodeida was hit by a terrorist attack from three suicide boats belonging to the Houthi militias,” the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen said, according to Reuters.
In the attack, two Saudi sailors were killed and three were wounded.
Footage claiming to show the attack surfaced Monday. In the video, you can hear shouts in Arabic, “Death to America, Death to Israel, Death to the Jews.”
Initially, Iranian media reported that the Saudi frigate had been hit by an anti-ship missile, much like the kind Iranian-backed Houthi militants in Yemen had fired in October at an Emirati ship and several US Navy vessels.
Pentagon believes attack on Saudi frigate meant for US warship
U.S. defense analysts believe those behind the attack either thought the bomber was striking an American warship or that this was a “dress rehearsal” similar to the attack on the USS Cole, according to one official.
The attack, near the Bab al Mandab Strait connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, occurred in the same area where U.S. Navy warships came under missile attack in October.
