Why were the phone calls recorded? Who leaked for political advantage?
Nunes told the Washington Post he is more concerned “that you have an American citizen who had his phone calls recorded.” Nunes will investigate how the story was exposed, he told CNN on Tuesday.
The Washington Post first reported details of the conversation, which the New York Times said stemmed from a wiretap of the Russian diplomat.
Nunes told CNN the panel won’t look into President Donald Trump’s knowledge of the situation due to executive privilege. TheHill
The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee [Devin Nunes, R-Calif.] said Tuesday that the most significant question posed by the resignation of national security adviser Michael Flynn is why intelligence officials eavesdropped on his calls with the Russian ambassador and later leaked information on those calls to the press.
“I expect for the FBI to tell me what is going on, and they better have a good answer,” said Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is conducting a review of Russian activities to influence the election. “The big problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had his phone calls recorded.”..
Nunes said he was dismayed that those recordings had leaked, citing a complex process for tapping communications involving U.S. citizens and then “unmasking” it for intelligence use. DailyCaller
Washington effort to destroy Trump’s inner circle?
‘There does appear to be a well orchestrated effort to attack Flynn and others in the administration,’ Nunes told the Bloomberg View columnist.
‘From the leaking of phone calls between the president and foreign leaders to what appears to be high-level FISA Court [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court ] information, to the leaking of American citizens being denied security clearances, it looks like a pattern,’ Nunes said…
On Friday, one of Flynn’s top deputies, Robin Townley, was denied a security clearance from the CIA, Politico reported, citing two unnamed sources, which prevented Townley from serving on the National Security Council. DailyMail
On Friday, one of Flynn’s closest deputies on the NSC, senior director for Africa Robin Townley, was informed that the Central Intelligence Agency had rejected his request for an elite security clearance required for service on the NSC, according to two people with direct knowledge of the situation.
That forced Townley, a former Marine intelligence officer who had long maintained a top secret-level security clearance, out of his NSC post, explained the sources, who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive personnel matters. Politico
Loose lips sink ships. President Trump is trying to implement what the people voted for and getting rocks and mud thrown at him by anti-American leftist globalists, the media, militant leftist, sore losers, the political establishment, and the intelligence community floods of leaks, all fighting to regain and hold onto power. The ship that sinks will be the eroding our rights as citizens and our democratic system.
