iraq-map-text-with-flag-illustration-1Major cities in northern Iraq are falling under terrorist rule. A terrorist horde is within 100 miles of Baghdad. The terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) are a brutal Sunni terrorist group.  ISIS’s goal is to create a Islamic caliphate ( a single, transnational Islamic state based on sharia law),  it already controls territory in eastern Syria and western/central Iraq.

Three planeloads of American contractors are being evacuated from Iraq, they were in country training the Iraqi army.  U.S. personal remain at the embassy in Baghdad for now.

Iran has sent troops to Iraq to help thwart the ISIS terrorist advance on Baghdad. Iran has sent special forces and a unit of elite troops to Iraq to bolster floundering efforts by the Iraqi government to halt the advance of militants from an al-Qaeda splinter group (ISIS). A 150-man unit of the Quds Force, the elite section of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, has deployed to Iraq, supported by a team of Saberin, Tehran’s equivalent of the SAS. The troops will assist Iraqi forces as they regroup after the catastrophic loss of Mosul and Tikrit to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham.

49 Turkish consulate staffers were abducted in Mosul and also around 30 Turkish truck drivers.  The trucking company that employs the truck drivers on Wednesday received from ISIS a demand of $5 million ransom.  Turkey is placed in a delicate balancing act with some of its citizens under ISIS captivity.

PJMedia reported:  As Baghdad stood in the cross-hairs of advancing al-Qaeda forces Wednesday, the Obama administration branded the exodus of Iraqis from terrorist territory as a “humanitarian crisis” while some members of Congress called it a monumental failure in the war on terror.

Half a million Iraqis were fleeing militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS), the successor to al-Qaeda in Iraq, after the rapid seizures of Mosul, Baiji and Tikrit — the hometown of Saddam Hussein. In an audio recording, ISIS vowed to take Baghdad, though Kirkuk’s fall appeared next on their list.

Iraqi officials told the Guardian that upwards of 30,000 soldiers — two divisions — simply fled from about 800 ISIS fighters. The militants joyfully seized U.S.-made Humvees and BlackHawks, according to numerous reports and photographic evidence, as well as SCUDs and Howitzers, and transported many back to Syria to share with extremists there.

This is the same Iraq where over 4,000 Americans lost their lives and had won a war. The same Iraq that Vice President Joe Biden  in 2000 hailed as one of President Obama’s “great achievements.”   The current White House administration response “our national security team is looking at all the options.”  Iraq is falling apart because the current White House administration never understood that a successful ending of the Iraq war was in the best interest of the U.S.   Online: The battle for Baghdad is nigh: Thousands of men answer Iraqi government’s call to arms as ISIS jihadists bear down on capital
