DOJ: Task Force Arrest 21 Of The ‘Most Violent’ MS-13 Gang Members In L.A.

Enforcing our laws!

The Justice Department announced Wednesday that a law enforcement task force has taken out MS-13 leadership in Los Angeles.

The task force, which included state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies, arrested 21 members and associates of MS-13 Wednesday. The DOJ has brought RICO charges against 44 individuals in LA.

“This case has targeted the leadership and most violent actors of the MS-13 street gang in Los Angeles, as well as MS-13’s links to the Mexican Mafia,” Deirdre Fike, the assistant director of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office, said in a statement. “This operation will have a significant impact on this violent gang and their overall ability to maintain control over law-abiding citizens.”

The 127-page indictment revealed that there are over ten thousand MS-13 members in the US, and that the LA gang is of particular importance. “MS-13 members in Los Angeles are sometimes called upon to provide input in other parts of the country,” the indictment said. DailyCaller

Sessions Tells All Remaining Obama Administration US Attorneys To Resign

Normal.  Cleaning house.

The Justice Department announced Friday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has asked all 46 remaining Obama administration U.S. attorneys to resign.

“As was the case in prior transitions, many of the United States attorneys nominated by the previous administration already have left the Department of Justice,” said Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores in a statement. “The Attorney General has now asked the remaining 46 presidentially appointed U.S. Attorneys to tender their resignations in order to ensure a uniform transition. ”

Flores said that until new U.S. attorneys are confirmed, the career prosecutors in the nation’s 94 U.S. attorneys’ offices will oversee cases.

Sessions’s action comes a few days after the attorney general sent a memo to all his prosecutors telling them to use every tool they have to combat violent crime, one of his top priorities.  Stars & Stripes

DOJ: Criminal Background Checks, Citizenship Requirements Barriers to Police-Force Diversity

minority-policeThe DOJ is insane!  Barriers to diversity in police departments are criminal background checks and citizenship requirements.  Nothing to do with the person being a lawbreaker, having a criminal record, non-citizen, illegal criminal alien, lack of education, lack of speaking English, lack of qualifications…  it’s those pesky background checks and citizenship requirements.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) released a comprehensive report Wednesday examining law enforcement hiring, recruitment, and retention policies with the aim of increasing diversity in police departments.

The report–“Advancing Diversity in Law Enforcement”–highlighted barriers to diversity within police departments, such as “the use of criminal background checks” which the researchers found “is likely to disproportionately impact racial minority applicants.”

The report also found that U.S. citizenship requirements “may prevent a considerable number of racial and ethnic minorities – many of whom have valuable foreign language skills – from being hired by law enforcement agencies.”

The report opened with an analysis of EEOC labor force data, which “found that African-American, Latino, and Asian-American police officers were underrepresented relative to the local area population in a significant number of the departments analyzed. Using a statistical test of underrepresentation, the researchers found that within their sample, African Americans were underrepresented in 60 percent of the departments, Latinos were underrepresented in 41 percent, and Asian Americans were underrepresented in 31 percent.”

The use of criminal background checks, the report noted,

“Researchers and practitioners,” the report said, “have also highlighted that the use of criminal background checks, which are a regular part of the screening process for many agencies, is likely to disproportionately impact racial minority applicants since, for a variety of reasons, individuals from those communities are more likely to have contact with the criminal justice system.

“While law enforcement agencies are undeniably justified in carefully vetting and investigating potential hires,” the report said, “excluding applicants regardless of the nature of the underlying offense, or how much time has passed since an offense occurred, or without any consideration of whether the candidate has changed in the intervening period, can be a significant – and unwarranted – barrier.”

The report also argued that residency and citizenship requirements can limit underrepresented communities’ presence in law enforcement.  CNSNews

DOJ Drops Charges Against Alleged Broker Of Libyan Weapons after He Threatened To Expose Obama And Clinton’s Role In Arming Extremists

clinton-obamaAmerican Marc Turi was charged with selling weapons to Libyan rebels at a time when it was illegal to do so.

Turi was indicted in 2014 on charges of arms dealing in violation of the Arms Export Control Act and lying to the State Department in official applications, with prosecutors arguing that he falsely claimed the weapons were destined for Qatar and the UAE. DailyMail

An associate of Mr Turo’s told Politico: ‘They don’t want this stuff to come out because it will look really bad for Obama and (Hillary) Clinton just before the election.’

“The joint motion asks the judge to accept a confidential agreement to resolve the case through a civil settlement between the State Department and the arms broker.”  Why a confidential agreement?  This stinks!  Another cover-up.

The deal averts a trial that threatened to cast additional scrutiny on Hillary Clinton’s private emails as Secretary of State, and to expose reported Central Intelligence Agency attempts to arm rebels fighting Libyan leader Moammar Qadhafi.

Government lawyers were facing a Wednesday deadline to produce documents to Turi’s legal team, and the trial was officially set to begin on Election Day, although it likely would have been delayed by protracted disputes about classified information in the case.

A Turi associate asserted that the government dropped the case because the proceedings could have embarrassed Clinton and President Barack Obama by calling attention to the reported role of their administration in supplying weapons that fell into the hands of Islamic extremist militants.

“They don’t want this stuff to come out because it will look really bad for Obama and Clinton just before the election,” said the associate.

In the dismissal motion, prosecutors say “discovery rulings” from U.S. District Court Judge David Campbell contributed to the decision to drop the case. The joint motion asks the judge to accept a confidential agreement to resolve the case through a civil settlement between the State Department and the arms broker.  Full article at Politico

Poor Oversite – Weapons to Libya and Syria

In July, Turi told Fox News about the U.S. illegally supplying Libyan rebels with arms.

“When this equipment landed in Libya, half went one way, and the half went the other way,”  Turi said, emphasizing that poor oversight, allowed individuals hostile to the United States to get arms.  “The half that went the other way is the half that ended up in Syria.”

Turi provided  Fox News with emails he exchanged – in early April 2011 – with Chris Stevens to alert him  to the proposed weapons deal.  The emails were previously cited by the New York Times. Fox News

Racism? What Is Really Going On

Based on the Implicit Association Test all across America whites are biased and they don’t even know it, reported the WaPo.  Even through no racial bias is shown by a  white person they are still racially bias.  Some are questioning what exactly the Implicit Association Test is measuring, if it really measures racial prejudice.  Instead studies suggest that the IAT-effect is due to in-group/out-group membership and is not based on racial prejudice.

Recent  criminal cases that have nothing to do with race have launched civil rights investigations, rioting and looting, professional agitators organizing protests, and race hustlers.  It seems the “protesters” have free rein in areas with Democratic leaders.

Each case is tragic.  Michael Brown strong armed robbed a store, resisted arrest, and was the aggressor in a confrontation with a police officer.

When Department of Justice officials arrived in Ferguson, Mo., one day after the death of Michael Brown, it wasn’t just to conduct an investigation on potential civil-rights violations. In fact, officials from one Justice Department office were conducting meetings with Ferguson residents to educate them on subjects such as “white privilege,” reported the National Review.

Eric Garner disobeyed repeated orders from a police officer, also a case of progressives overcriminalization and overtaxation.  Laws require enforcement; every act of enforcement includes the possibility of violence.

You may recall that the tide of rampant crime in New York City was turned when, under Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the police began cracking down on minor offenses — not untaxed cigarette sales but real violations that had nearly destroyed the city’s quality of life. What ensued was a miraculous transformation, with the Big Apple becoming the safest big city in America.

That policing model is under attack now — just as the NYPD’s extraordinarily successful counterterrorism model has been undermined by Obama’s Homeland Security Advisory Council. As Holder was making his Cleveland splash, Bill de Blasio, New York City’s hard-left mayor, opportunistically — and in the absence of any evidence — pointed to Garner’s death as proof that “the way we go about policing has to change. . . . People need to know that black lives and brown lives matter as much as white lives.”

Holder announced that the Justice Department, which is already monitoring the NYPD, will conduct a civil-rights investigation into Garner’s death. Yes, that’s how it always starts.  National Review

What is going on?  Control.

Reform of the police department by the current administration as part of a “racial justice” movement?
The NYPD can expect to undergo the same kind of “de-biasing” training that Holder put departments in Seattle, New Orleans, St. Louis and several other cities through while investigating them for alleged civil rights violations….

The Justice Department’s unprecedented shift from prosecuting intentional discrimination to investigating unconscious or “implicit” bias began long before Ferguson, Mo. It’s part of a “racial justice” movement launched by the Obama administration to “reform” the criminal justice system.  NYP The result was increased crime in Seattle.

Department of Justice Targeting Americans’ Cellphones In secret Spy Program

US-DeptOfJustice-SealNot a surprise that the  Department of Justice is using airplanes to create fake cellphone towers in order to gather Americans’ cellphone information.

The Justice Department is scooping up data from thousands of mobile phones through devices deployed on airplanes that mimic cellphone towers, a high-tech hunt for criminal suspects that is snagging a large number of innocent Americans, according to people familiar with the operations.

The U.S. Marshals Service program, which became fully functional around 2007, operates Cessna aircraft from at least five metropolitan-area airports, with a flying range covering most of the U.S. population, according to people familiar with the program.

Planes are equipped with devices—some known as “dirtboxes” to law-enforcement officials because of the initials of the Boeing Co. unit that produces them—which mimic cell towers of large telecommunications firms and trick cellphones into reporting their unique registration information.

Cellphones are programmed to connect automatically to the strongest cell tower signal. The device being used by the U.S. Marshals Service identifies itself as having the closest, strongest signal, even though it doesn’t, and forces all the phones that can detect its signal to send in their unique registration information.
