Demand Protest?

Is Demand Protest a fake website?

It claims to be the largest private grassroots support organization in the United States,”  It is not grassroots when you pay people to riot.

Legitimate?  No
The website was created on December 2, 2016. Yet it claims to have 15 partners, 17 causes, 48 campaigns, and 1817 operatives.  Fast work.

Demand Protest, a San Francisco company that bills itself as the “largest private grassroots support organization in the United States,” posted identical ads Jan. 12 in multiple cities on Backpage.com seeking “operatives.”

“Get paid fighting against Trump!” says the ad.

“We pay people already politically motivated to fight for the things they believe. You were going to take action anyways, why not do so with us!” the ad continues. “We are currently seeking operatives to help send a strong message at upcoming inauguration protests.”

The job offers a monthly retainer of $2,500 plus “our standard per-event pay of $50/hr, as long as you participate in at least 6 events a year,” as well as health, vision and dental insurance for full-time operatives.  WashingtionTimes

What next from the anti-democracy leftist?

Since 1988 when George H.W. Bush won the election Democrats have refused to accept the results of any election that did not go their way and have created myths as to why Republicans won.
Myth: Leftist claim George H. W. Bush won the election with racist ads.

Democrats and leftist attribute their consistent inability to win elections to conspiratorial forces and use made up fairy tales and myths as proof.  Instead of examining the person they choose to run in the election and how the campaign was run, they instead play the blame game.  What the leftist are doing now is much more than a blame game.  It also leaves them open to a tremendous amount of ridicule.

What the leftist are doing over this presidential election is about de-legitimizing Trump.  Questioning presidential legitimacy, these consistent myths is a much more damaging attack.  These de-legitimizing attacks against President-elect Trump are more than just another smear.   They are denying the legal authority of an elected president to hold office.  They are practicing political secession, a threat to the government system and an attack on democracy.

New York Times Twists Pew Religion Study to Mock Christians As ‘Less Educated’ Than Other Religions

The New York times likes to make Christians look like stupid uneducated rubes, regardless of the actual data.

The New York Times wants you to know that Christians in America are dumb and uneducated compared to other religious groups, and there’s a Pew Research Center study to prove it.

Christians in U.S. Are Less Educated Than Religious Minorities, Report Says,” blared the headline of a Times story on the Pew report, which measures the education levels of religious groups around the world. TheFederalist

The Pew study is titled “Religion and Education Around the World — Large gaps in education levels persistent, but all faiths are making gains – particularly among women.”   It actually shows that worldwide, Jews and Christians were the most educated, and Hindus and Muslims were the least.

The New York Times has a peculiar way of interpreting the Pew study.

Religious minorities in the United States are far more likely to have attended college or a vocational school than members of the Christian majority, according to a review of census and survey data from 151 countries released on Tuesday that found wide gaps in education among followers of the world’s major religions.

The review was based on data from 2010 and was conducted by the Pew Research Center, which also found an education gap between men and women within religious groups. The researchers said the educational differences among the faiths were rooted in immigration policies that favor the educated, as well as in political, economic and historical factors…

There were 267 million Christians in the United States when the data was collected, but only 36 percent of them had a postsecondary education, including college or a vocational school, the researchers said. That made them the least-educated religious group in the country.  NYTimes

Damning headline first, explanation deep down:

That is largely a byproduct of immigration policies that favor highly educated and highly skilled applicants who have the financial means to set up life in a new country, he said. Eighty-seven percent of Hindus in the United States and 64 percent of Muslims were born overseas, compared with 14 percent of Christians, according to the report.  NYTimes

The irony is that if America loosened its immigration and refugee policies in ways that would make the paper happy, it would eventually no longer be able to mock American Christians as being the least educated religion, given the influx of lower-educated immigrants. Worldwide, there’s actually no such educational attainment gap for Christians.

The facts from the report are such a reversal from the headline and lead that one wonders what the point of the story was, besides a jab at American Christians. NewsBusters

Taking Aim At Fake News Sites

Within the last year multiple fake news sites have sprung up that sound like legitimate news and that imitate and look like legitimate news sites. Fake news sites will never go away, people need to read things critically.  Even mainstream news needs to be read critically – collusion in the Podesta mails – circulating a list of conservative and centrist websites as ‘fake news’.  It seems at times the mainstream media is yellow journalism – the type of journalism that relies on sensationalism and lurid exaggeration to attract readers.

A recent study of local TV stations in the US conducted by Adornato revealed that that nearly 40% of their editorial policies did not include any guidelines on how to verify information from social media, yet news managers at the TV stations admitted that at least a third of their news bulletins had reported information from social media that later was revealed to be false or inaccurate.BBC

MSM & Democrat Party & Social Media

The mainstream media continues to freak out over the spread of “fake news” on Facebook and other social media platforms such as Twitter and reddit. Hillary Clinton’s late campaign thinks this is a problem.

The Democrat party seems to think people with Facebook accounts are to blame for Hillary’s decision to ignore crucial swing states in the final weeks of the campaign, that likely cost her the election.

But the media hasn’t bothered to ask why such sites gained traction. Our media has cultivated false news for years. Understandably, people stopped caring about the “journalistic ethics” the media claim to possess…

CNN has run segments suggesting that asteroids cause climate change, and black holes can materialize in Earth’s atmosphere and swallow 747 passenger planes . A CNN panel led by left wing commentator Sally Kohn declared their “hearts are out there marching” with protestors in Ferguson as they all raised their hands to mimic the Black Lives Matter protest mantra — “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” — echoing an alleged gesture during a police shooting that was declared one of the year’s biggest lies (ironically) by the Washington Post.  HeatSt

Google is working on a policy change to prevent fake news websites that misrepresent content from using its AdSense advertising.

Google Statement:  “Moving forward, we will restrict ad serving on pages that misrepresent, misstate, or conceal information about the publisher, the publisher’s content, or the primary purpose of the web property.”

Facebook Statement:  It’s no secret that Facebook has a fake news problem. Critics have accused the social network of allowing false and hoax news stories to run rampant, with some suggesting that Facebook contributed to Donald Trump’s election by letting hyper-partisan websites spread false and misleading information. Mark Zuckerberg has addressed the issue twice since Election Day, most notably in a carefully worded statement that reads: “Of all the content on Facebook, more than 99 percent of what people see is authentic. Only a very small amount is fake news and hoaxes. The hoaxes that do exist are not limited to one partisan view, or even to politics.” Gizmodo

Labeling conservative websites fake news!

Merrimack College assistant professor Melissa Zimdars, who specialized in “fat studies”, is the author of the “fake news” list circulated online.  The list includes conservative websites: Red State, BreitBart, Daily Wire, and the Blaze.  The list also includes Project Veritas and the Independent Journal Review (centrist).
