ICE Conducts Massive Anti-Gang Operation Results In Nearly 1,400 Arrests

The Ice-led anti-gang operation resulted in arrest across the country,  largely from large urban centers, including Atlanta, New York, Houston, and Newark.

“Of the 1,378 total arrests, 1,095 were confirmed to be gang members or affiliates of a gang… including mostly Bloods, followed by Sureños, MS-13 and the Crips,” reports CNN, citing ICE. “

In addition to the arrests, officials seized $491,763 in currency and 238 firearms, reported the DailyCaller.  Also seized were nearly 800 ounces of cocaine and more than 8,000 ounces of marijuana, reported Fox News.

After years of neglect under the Obama administration, ICE has finally got its mojo back. On Thursday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced its largest anti-gang operation to date. According to ICE officials, agents have arrested 1,378 people in a massive six-week operation across the country.

“Of the arrests, 933 were US citizens and 445 were foreign nationals, though ICE could not provide how many were in the US illegally,” notes CNN. “Of the total arrests, 280 were solely immigration-related.”

Three of the suspects arrested were individuals who had received protected status under former President Obama Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DREAM.

Another eight were identified as members of the notoriously deadly MS-13 gang.  MS-13 is largely comprised of illegal aliens. The notorious international gang is known for its horrific violence and unapologetic executions. MS-13 originated in the Latino communities of Los Angeles; its members are primarily of Central American descent with El Salvadorians making up the bulk of its membership. The gang operates out of the United States and Central America. DailyWire

New York Charges Murder

Thirteen members of the notorious Salvadoran gang MS-13 were charged Thursday in connection with seven murders including the 2016 killings of high school teenagers on New York’s Long Island.

The gang members were charged with 41 counts which also include racketeering, attempted murder, assault and obstruction of justice, U.S. Attorney Robert L. Capers said Thursday afternoon.

Four of the suspects were charged directly with the murders of Kayla Cuevas, 16 and Nisa Mickens, 15, close friends who were beaten to death on Sept. 13, 2016, in Brentwood, N.Y.

Four others were directly involved in the death of 18-year-old Jose Peña-Hernandez, whose body was found on the grounds of the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Brentwood in October, investigators said.

Ten of the suspects are illegal immigrants, two are U.S. citizens and one is a green card holder, Capers said. He would not elaborate if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was involved.  FoxNews
