ICE Arrests Illegal-Immigrant Father Of One Rockville Rape Suspect

“Adolfo Sanchez-Reyes, a 43-year-old citizen of Guatemala, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on March 24, 2017, after a review of his immigration history revealed he was unlawfully present in the United States. He was issued a notice to appear in immigration court, and is currently detained at the Howard County Detention Center in Jessup, Maryland.”

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

According to Washington TV station WRC-4, Adolfo Sanchez-Reyes was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Friday after it was discovered he and his rape-suspect son were in the U.S. illegally from Guatemala.

An ICE spokesman confirmed to Channel 4, the NBC affiliate in Washington, that Sanchez-Reyes, 43, is the father of Henry Sanchez-Millian, 18. The younger man and another Rockville High student (17-year-old Jose Montano) have been charged with first-degree rape in the attack on a 14-year-old girl at the school.

Sanchez-Millian was taken by the U.S. Border Patrol last August in Texas but benefitted from the Obama administration’s catch-and-release policies for Central American minors. He was sent to live with his father in Maryland, despite Sanchez-Reyes’ illegal status, while his own deportation case is litigated.  WashingtonTimes

Henry E. Sanchez

Illegal aliens Henry E. Sanchez, 18, and Jose O. Montano, 17 were placed in a 9th-grade classroom at Rockville High School in Maryland.

Matthew Bourke, spokesman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said in a statement that a border patrol agent encountered Sanchez in Texas in August. Sanchez was ordered to appear before an immigration judge, Bourke said, but that appearance has not been scheduled. ICE has since lodged an immigration detainer against Sanchez. BaltimoreSun

They have been charged with raping a 14-year-old girl in a bathroom stall at the school, they forced her into a boys’ bathroom where they both raped her and sodomized her.

Authorities said Henry E. Sanchez, 18, and Jose O. Montano, 17, approached a 14-year-old girl in a hallway at Rockville High School during school hours Thursday morning and asked her to walk with them.

Montano asked her for sex, and after she refused, he and Sanchez forced her into a boys’ bathroom where they both raped her and sodomized her, police said. NBC Washington

It has been reported that Sanchez lived in Guatemala until he was 17 and Montano, who has been charged as an adult, was born in El Salvador, where he lived for 16 years.  Both men had both been in the U.S. for less than a year, Sanchez 7 months and Montano 8 months, reported the Washington Post.

Jose O. Montano has an unconfirmed address.  Henry E. Sanchez lives in the Aspen Hill area, where the median household income is $82,682 and the median home value is $394,000.

Gov. Hogan ‘Outraged’

“I am outraged by the brutal and violent rape of a 14 year old girl in a Rockville public school. Our prayers are with her,” Hogan posted in a Facebook statement Tuesday. “The State of Maryland is calling on Montgomery County to immediately and fully cooperate with all federal authorities during the investigation of this heinous crime. The public has a right to know how something this tragic and unacceptable was allowed to transpire in a public school.”

Hogan accused the school system of withholding information from the Maryland State Board of Education about the rape and the students involved.

“Montgomery County government and the Montgomery County police are cooperating and the school system is not and it appears as if they have something to hide,” he said.  NBC Washington

School Superintendent

Jack Smith, superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools, pushed back against the focus on the immigration status of the accused students.

“Some try to make this into an issue of immigration,” Smith said at a news conference Tuesday. “We would like to change the conversation.”

While expressing horror at the crime and assuring parents that their children are safe at school, Smith, said, “We serve every student who walks in the door. It is not only the right thing to do, it is the law.” BaltimoreSun

Yes, it is about 2 adult illegal alien males, unvetted illegal immigrants placed in a 9th-grade high school classroom.  Why were they placed in a high school and not an adult education English language class?

Charged

Montano and Sanchez were charged with first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sexual offense, police said.

District Judge Eugene Wolfe ordered both of them held with no bond.  “I believe that you are a danger,” District Judge Eugene Wolfe declared.

Parents Outraged

Parents of students at Rockville High School and other concerned Montgomery County, Md., community members finally got their chance to have some of their questions answered by school administrators at a PTA meeting…

“The mood was simply cover our reputation,” said attorney Robin Ficker. “There were long speeches from the principal, from the superintendent, from others who were associated with them explaining why this could never have happened when it did. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound to cure it.” FoxNews

Maryland is taking steps to become a sanctuary state.

Video:  Maryland Governor Larry Hogan opposes state sanctuary bill

Maryland Democrats this week took a major step to becoming a “sanctuary state,” drawing outrage from Republican Gov. Larry Hogan and concerns it would protect an 18-year-old illegal charged with raping a 14-year-old girl in a school bathroom last week…

Jessica Vaughan, the policy director at the Center for Immigration Studies, said sanctuary policies are a public safety threat.

“I can’t imagine how any lawmaker in their right mind in Maryland could support a sanctuary policy after all that has happened there, especially after the influx of illegal alien youths and families from Central America, which swept in a whole new generation of gang members who have been terrorizing immigrant communities. Montgomery and Prince Georges counties in particular have become safe havens for all manner of criminal aliens who should be sent back to their home country instead of allowed to stay here in defiance of our laws,” she said.

Vaughan added, “It’s a disgrace that the Maryland assembly is working harder for illegal aliens than it is for the Marylanders who are harmed by illegal immigration.” WashingtonExaminer
