UPDATE–Joel Richardson: What Is The Sign Of September 23, 2017?

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.
Rev.  12:1-2

Claims and speculation about September 23, 2017:
This September there will be a unique celestial configuration during and right after Rosh Hashanah (Sep. 20-22).  It will reach its completion on
September 23, 2017, which is a Saturday.

  • The sun passes through Virgo – clothed in the sun.
  • Moon under her feet.
  • A crown of 12 stars – constellation Leo, which is composed of 9 stars. In 2017 three more added (Mercury, Mars, and Venus)
  • Jupiter the king planet will be between the legs of Venus below her womb.

Feasts

These are the feasts of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times. Leviticus 23:4

Seven feasts were given to Israel by God.  The 7 feasts are prophetic types, or symbols, that point to the Messiah and which will be fulfilled in Him.

Let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.   Colossians 2:16-17

There are 4 spring feasts and 3 fall feasts.  The spring feasts have been fulfilled, the fall feasts have not been fulfilled.

Spring: Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, and Harvest.
Fall: Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Tabernacles

Rosh Hashanah is not one of the feasts.  The Feast of Trumpets in 2017 is September 21-22.  Associating Rosh Hashanah with the Feast of Trumpets began in the second century A.D. shortly after the destruction of the Temple.

Listen to Joel Richardson’s good and wise words urging caution.

Joel’s post in answer to a question -Rosh Hashanah is not a biblical feast, but Yom Teru’ah or the Feast of Trumpets is a biblical mood. It follows immediately upon Rosh Hashanah. I erred somewhat in emphasizing this.

UPDATE:  In this episode Joel demonstrates the various problems with the false claim that a unique astronomical sign will occur this year on September 23, 2017.
