EU Laws Prevented Spain Deporting Barcelona Terror Mastermind Abdelbaki Es Satty

The Spanish government was prevented from deporting Catalonia terror mastermind Abdelbaki Es Satty, because a judge determined he did not pose a “serious threat to national security”.

The Spanish government tried to throw Abdelbaki Es Satty, 42, out of the country in 2014 after he served a sentence for drug smuggling.

But a judge said two EU directives gave Es Satty the right to stay in the country – because he did not pose a “serious threat”….

A written judgment reveals judge Pablo de la Rubia blocked Es Satty’s deportation because of EU laws.

The judge highlighted two EU Council Directives – numbers 2003/109/EC and 2001/40/EC – which prevented the Madrid government from booting him out.

The EU directives say member states can only deport non-EU nationals who pose a “serious and present threat to public order or national security and safety”.

The judge ruled Es Satty was not a threat – because he had only been convicted of one offence and because he was making attempts to “integrate” into Spanish society…

Citing the two EU directives, judge De la Rubia wrote: “Although the conduct of the accused is serious, there is only one offence, which is old, and it is claimed he has laid down employment roots in Spain, which demonstrate his efforts at integration into Spanish society.”

The judge added that it would be “disproportionate” to deport the Moroccan.  ExpressUK

After the failed attempt to deport Es Satty:

After successfully appealing his deportation, the drug dealer applied for asylum, ultimately allowing him to travel freely throughout the EU’s borderless Schengen Zone, where he was known to have travelled to the EU capital in Brussels, Belgium, shortly before the terror bombings there in 2016…

Es Satty became the imam of the mosque in Ripoll, where he recruited youngs Muslims to commit August’s terror attacks.

The two vehicular ramming attacks in Las Ramblas, Barcelona, and Cambrils, which Es Satty masterminded, have so far claimed 16 lives and left over 150 people injured.

It could have killed substantially more had Es Satty not been killed when the butane gas canisters and acetone peroxide (TATP) he was stockpiling in a house in Alcanar exploded, preventing its use to potentially strike tourist and religious sites, including the Catholic Basilica of la Sagrada Familia.  BreitBart

Migrant Crisis Reaches Spain

Invading migrants are increasingly turning their attentions Spain.

Spain is on track to overtake Greece as the second-biggest gateway for migrants entering Europe by sea. The sudden surge in migration to Spain comes amid a crackdown on human smuggling along the Libya-Italy sea route, currently the main migrant point of entry to Europe.

The westward shift in migration routes from Greece and Italy implies that Spain, situated only ten miles from Africa by sea, may soon find itself at the center of Europe’s migration crisis.

More than 8,300 illegal migrants have reached Spanish shores during the first seven months of 2017 — three times as many as in all of 2016, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Thousands more migrants have entered Spain by land, primarily at the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla on the north coast of Morocco, the European Union’s only land borders with Africa. Once there, migrants are housed in temporary shelters and then moved to the Spanish mainland, from where many continue on to other parts of Europe.

In all, some 12,000 migrants have arrived in Spain so far this year, compared to 13,246 for all of 2016. By comparison, 14,156 migrants have arrived in Greece so far in 2017.

Italy remains the main migrant gateway to Europe, with around 97,000 arrivals so far this year, compared to 181,436 for all of 2016. Italy has been the main point of entry to Europe since the EU-Turkey migrant deal, signed in March 2016, shut off the route from Turkey to Greece, at one time the preferred point of entry to Europe for migrants from Asia and the Middle East. Almost 600,000 migrants have arrived in Italy during the past four years.  Gatestoneinstutue

Invading migrants have entered primarily at the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla.

EU’s border force Frontex  reveals how Spanish and Moroccan police have fortified the two cities, which have a combined population of 180,000, with razor wire fencing and moats in a bid to keep migrants out.

Once inside people are technically on EU soil and are entitled to demand transport to the Spanish mainland, from where they can travel through France and onto Calais and Britain.

In 2014 more than 18,000 “irregular sub-Saharan migrants” attempted to breach the cities’ defences according to Frontex, which says the arrival of refugees from the Middle East has further added to the chaos.

Many Syrians are now buying fake Moroccan passports which allow them to travel into Ceuta and Melilla posing as traders legally, at which point they immediately claim asylum.  Express UK

Barcelona Terrorist – 28 Year-Old Moroccan Citizen Driss Oukabir

Update:  Wrong brother.

Police are still hunting the teenager thought to have carried out the Barcelona terror attack which killed 13 and injured more than 100 people.

Moussa Oukabir, 18, is said to have stolen his older brother’s identity documents to rent the white Renault van which later ploughed into pedestrians on a busy street popular with tourists.

The teenager, said to be a Spanish national of Moroccan heritage, had previously written about ‘killing infidels’ in a chilling online post.

His brother Driss Oukabir, 28, was initially named as a suspect but later handed himself to a police station in Ripoll, a town to the north of Barcelona, not far from the French border. DailyMail

Horrifying!    A van jumped a sidewalk and plowed into pedestrians at Las Ramblas in central Barcelona.

Another witness, Isaac, said: ‘The person was accelerating. He mounted the pavement to run people over. We saw the van passing by running people over at 50 miles an hour. It was as if it was driving through a field of corn.’

‘I heard screams and a bit of a crash and then I just saw the crowd parting and this van going full pelt down the middle of the Ramblas and I immediately knew that it was a terrorist attack or something like that.’ Tom Gueller told BBC’s PM.

Police have identified the first suspect of two arrested so far in Thursday’s attack in Barcelona that killed at least 13 and wounded dozens more.

Driss Oukabir, 28, was reportedly apprehended Thursday evening by police, who say the Moroccan citizen was in the country legally.

Barcelona authorities announced on Twitter that they are “treating him as a terrorist.” The Hill

Cambrils

The Catalan government says an attack in the seaside resort town of Cambrils is linked to the vehicle attack on a popular Barcelona promenade that killed 13 people.

The region’s Interior Minister Joaquin Forn told local radio RAC1 early Friday that the Cambrils attack “follows the same trail. There is a connection.”

He did not explain what connected the attacks. He confirmed the driver in the Barcelona attack remains at large….

The police force for Spain’s Catalonia region says the five suspects shot and killed in the resort town of Cambrils were carrying bomb belts, which have been detonated by the force’s bomb squad.

Police earlier Friday morning had said five suspects had been killed in the town south of Barcelona during the police response to a terrorist attack in which five civilians and one police officer were wounded. They said two of the wounded are in serious condition. AP

Spain: Islamics ‘Break Into Church And Spray Allah On Walls Before Destroying Crucifix’

A spokesman for the Diocese of Malaga said the attack – first discovered by priest Agustin Carrasco – was not representative of all Muslims. He also said it was committed to maintaining “respect and fraternity between different religious groups”.

This shows no respect from those who did this attack.  It is also not representative of all Muslims but it is representative of Islam.

The attackers smashed wooden statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus on the cross during the shocking attack earlier this week.

They stormed the Church of our Lady of Carmen in the Spanish town of Rincon de la Victoria, Andalucia on Monday morning.

Spain’s Civil Guard has now launched a probe into the vandalism.

A spokesman for the Diocese of Malaga said the attack – first discovered by priest Agustin Carrasco – was not representative of all Muslims.

He also said it was committed to maintaining “respect and fraternity between different religious groups”.

Last month a Moroccan man was arrested in the same town after allegedly trying to damage another statue of the Virgin Mary.

The 27-year-old repeatedly launched a large rock at a wall protecting the statue.

He is also said to have shouted the Arabic phrase “Allahu Akbar” – meaning “God is great” – while being led away from the shrine by police.

The Muslim population of Andalusia has grown in recent years due to immigration from nearby Morocco, according to the website Breitbart London.

Three years ago, a think-tank claimed Islamists in the region called for a “Andalusia Spring” to “reclaim” Spain for Islam.

The Gatestone Institute also claimed websites “frequented by Islamists and jihadists” were “brimming with calls for the Islamisation of Spain”. Express

Spain: Matisyahu, Jewish-American Reggae Singer, Performance Canceled By Festival Organizers Amid BDS Movement Pressure

Update:  The Spanish music festival that disinvited Jewish American reggae singer Matisyahu over his refusal to endorse a Palestinian state apologized and extended a new invitation to the singer to perform, Spanish media reported Wednesday….

“Rototom publicly apologizes for canceling Matisyahu’s concert and announces that he has been invited to perform on Saturday, August 22 at the festival, as originally scheduled,” it says.

The statement blamed the local anti-Israel group BDS País Valencià, which campaigned to cancel Matisyahu’s invitation, for “pressures, threats and coercion” efforts that threatened to “seriously disrupt the normal functioning of the festival” and “prevented the management of the situation with clarity.” JPost

Matisyahu’s performance was canceled in Spain because he would not sign a statement endorsing a Palestinian state.    Matisyahu, who was born Matthew Miller, is a Jewish-American.  The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement is showing it is not about a political stance, but it is a movement of  hatred toward Jews.

Organizers have canceled a concert by the Jewish American singer Matisyahu at an international reggae festival in Spain after he declined to state his position regarding a Palestinian state.

A local branch of the proPalestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement had campaigned against the concert in the town of Benicassim, accusing Matisyahu of being antiPalestinian.

Rototom Sunsplash festival organizers said on their Facebook page they canceled the Aug. 22 concert because the singer declined “to declare himself regarding the war and in particular the right of the Palestinian people to have their own state.”

The World Jewish Congress on Sunday slammed the cancellation as anti-Semitic and urged Spanish authorities to take action. NYTimes

Matisyahu posted a response on his Facebook page.

“The festival organizers contacted me because they were getting pressure from the BDS movement. They wanted me to write a letter, or make a video, stating my positions on Zionism and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to pacify the BDS people.

I support peace and compassion for all people. My music speaks for itself, and I do not insert politics into my music. Music has the power to transcend the intellect, ideas, and politics, and it can unite people in the process.

The festival kept insisting that I clarify my personal views; which felt like clear pressure to agree with the BDS political agenda. Honestly it was appalling and offensive, that as the one publicly Jewish-American artist scheduled for the festival they were trying to coerce me into political statements. Were any of the other artists scheduled to perform asked to make political statements in order to perform? No artist deserves to be put in such a situation simply to perform his or her art. Regardless of race, creed, country, cultural background, etc, my goal is to play music for all people. As musicians that is what we seek. – Blessed Love, Matis”
