UN Declares Ancient Jewish Holy Site Is Now Palestinian Heritage Site

UNESCO recognizes Hebron’s Tomb of the Patriarchs – considered Judaism’s second Holiest Place – as a Palestinian heritage site. Islamic rewrite of history, they need to be defunded.

A United Nations body ruled Friday that an ancient Jewish holy site is now part of Palestinian heritage.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) voted to make the Tomb of the Patriarchs and the Old City of Hebron Palestinian heritage sites, despite intense push-back from Israel and the United States. Twelve member states voted in favor of the resolution, which the Palestinians initially put forward, while only three were against it.

UNESCO’s decision sparked a fiery response from Israeli leaders, who feel the organization is being used as a political tool in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

“It’s disappointing and embarrassing to see UNESCO denying history and distorting reality time after time to knowingly serve those who try to wipe the Jewish state off the map,” said Naftali Bennet, Israel’s education minister and chairman of the Israeli UNESCO committee, according to Israeli news site Haaretz. “Israel won’t renew cooperation with UNESCO as long as it continues to serve as a tool for political attacks instead of being a professional organization.”…

The resolution claimed that Hebron’s Old City and the Tomb of the Patriarchs are Palestinian heritage sites, despite hundreds of years of Jewish tradition associated with the areas that predates both the modern Palestinian territories and the Islamic faith.

Jewish tradition claims that Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob and Leah, are buried at the site. All six are considered the Patriarchs and Matriarchs of the Jewish faith. The tomb is located in Hebron, in the southwest corner of the West Bank. DailyCaller

UNESCO Disavows Israeli Sovereignty In Jerusalem

Ten UNESCO member states — the US, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Paraguay, Togo, Ukraine and the UK — voted against the resolution on Tuesday.

The low numbers in a UNESCO 22-10 vote disavowing Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem on the country’s birthday represent a diplomatic victory for Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.

With 23 countries abstaining and 3 absent altogether, the 58 board members gathered in Paris approved the resolution referred to as “occupied Palestine” with minority support. The UNESCO Executive Board is expected to ratify the resolution on Friday.

“The number of countries who support this absurd UNESCO resolution is getting smaller,” Netanyahu told the diplomatic corps at an Independence Day reception.

It’s a significant shift from the passage of Jerusalem resolutions last year, with 33 nations approving a controversial anti-Israel text in April and 24 voting for it in October.

With a determined effort it will be possible to whittle that number down further, “because there is no need for these types of votes in the UN,” Netanyahu said.

Speaking at the International Bible Quiz prior to the vote, Netanyahu said that there was no nation in the world to whom Jerusalem was more holy than to the Jewish people.

“I know that today there is a vote in UESCO that will try to deny that simple truth, we reject UNESCO,” he said. Throughout Jewish history, he added, Jerusalem was “the heart of the people, the place to which everyone turned to, went to, and prayed toward.”  JPost

USA

A spokesperson for the American UN mission has roundly condemned the anti-Israel resolution that was passed by the global intergovernmental body’s cultural agency at a meeting in Paris on Tuesday.

“Once again, the United States rejects the adoption of these anti-Israel resolutions at UNESCO,” the spokesperson told The Algemeiner. “Like other parts of the UN system, UNESCO is too often used as a vehicle by member states inclined to deride and delegitimize the State of Israel. Although several of these anti-Israel resolutions are typically adopted biannually at UNESCO, over time they have become increasingly political in nature, and now attempt to deny the historic connections of the Jewish people to the holy sites of Jerusalem.”

The spokesperson continued: “These biased resolutions are counterproductive to the core work of UNESCO, discredit the organization, and do nothing to advance Israeli-Palestinian issues. There is no place for them in an organization that is meant to be impartial. The United States will continue to object to efforts to politicize the organization and its important function on world heritage issues.” Algeimeiner

Palestinian Authority Demands ‘Return’ Of Dead Sea Scrolls

The Palastinians demand, through UNESCO, Israel turn over proof that the Jews have been part of the land of Israel for ages so they can deny the truth of the Jews connection to the land of Israel.

The Palestinian Authority is reportedly preparing to demand that United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) force Israel to “return” the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Palestinians.

During a meeting convened by the U.N.’s cultural body last month, Eitan Klein, who serves as the deputy director of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was told that the Palestinians had informally raised the issue of Israel returning the Dead Sea Scrolls, and that they were likely to make an official request to that end, the Times of Israel reported.

“This is another instance of provocation and the ‘chutzpah’ of the Palestinians trying to rewrite history and erase our connection to our land,” said Israeli Ambassador to UNESCO Carmel Shama-Hacohen.

“The fragments of the scrolls are proof and a weighty archaeological evidence of the historical connection of the Jewish People to the land of Israel,” added Shama-Hacohen. BreakingNewsIsrael

UN Plan To Turn The World Into An Islamic Colony?

Jerusalem Temple Mount and Hagia Sophia in Istanbu
Jerusalem Temple Mount and Hagia Sophia in Istanbu

Greece and other countries political  systems are destroying their countries, their citizens, and are being colonized and Islamized by illegal Muslim immigrants.

  • The UN is the mothership of injustice and radical global Islamization.
  • As the UN does not recognize the historical presence and continuity of the Jewish people in their land, the next people on the menu in UNESCO’s food chain are most likely the Greeks and then the Italians. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan already said as much last week.
  • No one would be surprised if UNESCO, to institutionalize the Islamic presence in the international community, claims that Greeks have nothing to do with the Acropolis and the Parthenon, and that Italy has no historical ties to the Colosseum in Rome.
  • With the rate of admission of Muslims into Greece, by 2050 the Greeks will be a minority in their own country.
  • The Greek media chose not to inform the Greek people on the attitude of their politicians towards the Jewish nation because it would expose their preference for Islam over Israel, and the Greek people might not see this choice in a positive light.
  • How can Greece credibly ask for help from the global community on the issue of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, when the politicians themselves maintain a neutral attitude on the virtually identical issue of the Jerusalem’s Temple Mount?

When the news arrived that UNESCO does not recognize the connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, it brought to mind that the UN is the mothership of injustice and radical global Islamization. Its members, which include the large bloc of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) — 56 Islamic nations plus “Palestine” — evidently believe that if they want to transform the Western world into an Islamic colony, first they must bring down the State of Israel. This resembles the suggestion in ancient Greece of the exiled Greek general, Demaratos, to the king of Persia, Xerxes: If you want Greece to fall, first you have to destroy the Spartans.

If Jerusalem falls into the hands of Islam, the rest of the world will presumably fall. UNESCO’s decision is not only nonsensical from a historical perspective (Islam did not even exist at the time of ancient Jerusalem), basically it is also a strategic move against the cultural foundations of the West.

As the UN does not recognize the historical presence and continuity of the Jewish people in their land, the next people on the menu in UNESCO’s food chain are most likely the Greeks and then the Italians. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan already said as much last week.

Greece hosts two million illegal immigrants from Muslim-majority countries. Research in Greece shows that with the aging of the native population and emigration of young people, due of Greece’s economic crisis, by 2050 native Greeks will number only 8.3 million, which is 2.5 million fewer than today. With the rate of admission of Muslims into Greece, by 2050 the Greeks will be a minority in their own country.

No one would be surprised if, a few years from now, UNESCO, to institutionalize the Islamic presence in the international community, claims that Greeks have nothing to do with the Acropolis and the Parthenon, and that Italy has no historical ties to the Colosseum in Rome.

The recent UNESCO resolution on Jerusalem should particularly worry the political establishment not only in Greece but throughout Europe: such flamboyant injustice from the UN against the history of an ancient nation, such as the Jews’, shows a blind partiality toward Islam, and could be committed against any of us. Republican Senators: Urge Cut To Ties And Funds To UNESCO Over Jerusalem Resolution

jerusalem_wailing-wall-western-wall

U.S. funds to UNESCO should be stopped.  The United States cut fund to UNESCO in 1984 for becoming increasingly politicized  and bad management with assertions that 70 percent of Unesco’s total annual budget of $188 million was spent on administrative expenses.  in 2011, the US cut funds to UNESCO after its acceptance of a Palestinian bid for full membership.

Israel cut ties with Unesco  day after the agency adopted a resolution that denies Jewish and Christian ties to Jerusalem Holy Sites.

A group of Republican senators sent a letter to President Barack Obama on Wednesday urging him to suspend the US’s diplomatic ties with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in light of its recent adoption of resolutions denying Judaism’s connection to Jerusalem.

“Because UNESCO continues to deviate from its founding mission and adopt one-sided, anti-Israel resolutions, it is time for the U.S. to stand with Israel and suspend our ties with UNESCO,” declared the letter, signed by Republican Senators Marco Rubio, Johnny Isakson, Mark Kirk and David Perdu.

The lawmakers said that UNESCO’s decisions render the organization “counterproductive” and went so far as to suggest the U.S. give up its member state status to the UN body, one of whose main purposes is “securing world cultural and national heritage” – a mission quite clearly mangled by inherent anti-Israel bias and Arab agendas at the UN.

“Recent UNESCO resolutions that deny Jewish and Christian ties to holy sites in Jerusalem not only reinforces the necessity of withholding American funding from this counterproductive UN organization, but also call into question future U.S. membership in UNESCO,” read the letter.

“Given that U.S. law already forbids American taxpayer money going to UNESCO, we urge your administration to join Israel in suspending ties to UNESCO.” BreakingNewsIsrael

Pope Francis: God Promised The Holy Land To The People Of Israel

Pope Francs  directed a rebuke to UNESCO when he declared during a public address at the Vatican Wednesday that God promised the Land of Israel to the Jewish People.

God promised the Holy Land to the people of Israel, Pope Francis said during a speech at the Vatican on Wednesday.

“The people of Israel, who from Egypt, where they were enslaved, walked through the desert for forty years until they reached the land promised by God,” he said in his address about migration.

His address came before giving an audience to Arab-Israeli Deputy Minister for Regional Cooperation Ayoub Kara in which he thanked him for his efforts on behalf of Christians in Israel.

According to Kara, the Pope was sending a direct message to UNESCO, whose World Heritage Committee approved a resolution hours before that ignored Jewish and Christian ties to the Temple Mount.

Kara thanked Pope Francis for acknowledging Israel’s rights to the Holy Land and added that there is no question that the resolution harms Christians because it “distorts historical and theological facts.” BreitBark

UNESCO Adopts Second Resolution Denying Jewish And Christian Ties to Jerusalem Holy Sites

jerusalem_wailing-wall-western-wall

The UNESCO resolution refers solely to the Temple Mount by its Muslim names “Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif,” and defines it only as “a Muslim holy site of worship.”

The Paris-based organization UNESCO, gets 22 percent of its operating budget from the U.S. – amounting to around $80 million a year – plus a further $3-$4 million a year in extra-budgetary funds, reported CNSNews.

A second resolution by the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) denying any and all connections between the city of Jerusalem and the Jewish religion or people passed on Wednesday morning, though not by a large majority.

With ten votes in favor, two against, and eight abstentions, the 21-member World Heritage Committee did not produce a consensus vote, which would have had the appearance of a unanimous decision, as the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Jordan had hoped, but a secret ballot, allowing each member state to vote individually. Titus and Hadrian would be proud of UNESCO

The Arch of Titus commemorate his victories, including the siege of Jerusalem.
The Arch of Titus commemorate his victories, including the siege of Jerusalem.

Vespasianus Augustus Titus, the Imperial Roman commander who destroyed the Second Jewish Temple and burned Jerusalem, were alive today to see recurring United Nations Educational, Social and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) resolutions ignoring the Jewish connection to Jerusalem, he would be very proud to see the product of his handiwork.

According to Roman Jewish historian Josephus Flavius, after the destruction of Jerusalem in the year 70 CE to put an end to the Great Jewish Revolt, “there was left nothing to make those that came thither believe it [Jerusalem] had ever been inhabited.” Titus wanted to erase the very connection of the Jewish people to the city of Jerusalem and the land of Israel…

Sixty-five years later, in 135CE, the Romans crushed another Judean rebellion led by Bar Kokhva, putting hundreds of thousands of Jews to the sword. To further punish the Jews, Emperor Hadrian renamed Judea to “Syria-Palaestina”. He turned Jerusalem into a pagan city called Aelia Capitolina, and built a temple to Jupiter on the Jewish Temple Mount. The goal was to rid every historic connection of the Jewish people to their homeland. Full article at TimesOfIsrael

Repudiating own culture and erasing history.

Hardly a week goes by without some archaeological discovery being made in Jerusalem…

The UNESCO resolution denying the Jewish connection to their most revered and holy place for 3,000 years is thus beyond bizarre.

Each country that voted for it or abstained, was in effect repudiating its own culture.

For starters, while the Quran never mentions Jerusalem even once, it does say in Ash-Shu’ara-59, Sura 26 that the children of Israel were the inheritors of their land (Israel). Strange therefore, but not surprising, that the Muslim countries that sponsored the resolution in effect trashed a section of their own holy book, which does not politically suit them. Never mind that in some countries a fatwa is issued against those who insult the prophet Mohammed.

What is more troubling, however, is that most Christian countries, including in Europe, abstained.Read more at Algemeiner

Palestinian Authority Threaten Against Opposition To UNESCO Jerusalem Vote

Ahead of Wednesday’s vote, PA and Jordan warn of “other options” if full support is not received on controversial Jerusalem resolution.

This is not the first time Palestinians has threatened other counties to get them to do their bidding, although not as blatantly.  The UNESCO World vote on Wednesday would deny the Jewish and Christian connection to the Temple Mount.

The resolution, which refers to the Temple Mount solely by its Muslim name of Al-Haram Al Sharif, is expected to be approved by the committee at its 40th session.

But in light of public statements on such resolutions made last week by Italy, Mexico and Brazil, the Palestinians want the resolution to pass by consensus, with the full support of all 21 member states of the World Heritage Committee (WHC).

On Monday, they sent a letter to committee members asking them to submit their positions on the resolution by noon Tuesday.

“Otherwise, the delegation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the delegation of Palestine would and according to the rules of procedure be obliged to consider other options,” they stated.

Without pledges of a consensus approval, the Palestinians and Jordanians plan to resubmit a text with language that was even more problematic to Israel, explained Israel’s Ambassador to UNESCO Carmel Shama-Hacohen. JPost

UNESCO Chief And Top Official Discontent With Resolution That Ignores Jewish, Christian Ties To Temple Mount

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced the resolution, saying “the theater of the absurd continues at the UN.”

“To say that Israel has no connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall is like saying that China has no connection to the Great Wall of China or that Egypt has no connection to the pyramids. By this absurd decision, UNESCO has lost what little legitimacy it had left.”

jerusalem_wailing-wall-western-wall

The UNESCO resolution denials historical connections to holy sites in Jerusalem (Temple Mount and Western Wall) while it affirms Judaism’s, Christianity’s, and Islam’s connection to Jerusalem.  It erases history.  This only acknowledges Muslim connections to holy sites in Jerusalem and denies Jewish and Christian connections to holy sites in Jerusalem.

The Chair (half hearted apology, no action)

The chair of UNESCO’s Executive Board, Michael Worbs, said Friday he was sorry about the resolution ignoring Jewish ties to Jerusalem’s holy sites that was passed by UNESCO on Thursday and that is set to be approved by his executive board next week. “It’s very exceptional what happened yesterday, and I’m sorry for that,” Worbs told Israeli television.

Worbs, who had said earlier Friday that he hoped Tuesday’s scheduled Executive Board vote would be delayed, to allow more time for dialogue, told Israel’s Channel 10 television he would never deny Jewish and Christian ties to Jerusalem, and invoked the cultural body’s decades-old designation of the capital as a World Heritage Site. This designation trumps any recent conversations about the city, Worbs said, in a reference to Thursday’s UNESCO resolution that appeared to negate non-Muslim connections to Jerusalem’s holy sites.  TimesOfIsrael

UNESCO Chief – Director-General Irina Bokova
It takes a Russian woman to tell UNESCO what a bunch of frauds it is.

In a statement on UNESCO’s website, Bokova said she opposes denial of historical connections to holy sites in Jerusalem.

“The heritage of Jerusalem is indivisible, and each of its communities has a right to the explicit recognition of their history and relationship with the city,” Bokova remarked, stating further, “To deny, conceal or erase any of the Jewish, Christian or Muslim traditions undermines the integrity of the site and runs counter to the reasons that justified its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage list.”

The UNESCO chief added that she believes it is essential to recognize the different names of Jerusalem’s holy sites.

“In this microcosm of humanity’s spiritual diversity, different peoples worship the same places, sometimes under different names. The recognition, use of and respect for these names is paramount.”

“The Al Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram al-Sharif, the sacred shrine of Muslims, is also the Har HaBayit – or Temple Mount – whose Western Wall is the holiest place in Judaism.”

Bokova has previously signaled her opposition to resolutions that ignore Jewish connections to the Temple Mount, saying in July that she is concerned about “efforts to erase history and instrumentalize culture.”

Palestinian Foreign Minister

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki rebuked UNESCO Chief Irina Bokova on Friday for suggesting her discontent with a resolution approved yesterday by UNESCO member states that ignores Jewish connections to the Temple Mount.

“The Director General of UNESCO has out stepped the scope of her mandate by speaking out against a resolution adopted by the Executive Board of the organization,” Maliki said, adding, “This unusual and unacceptable position is an affront to the sovereignty of the Governing Body of UNESCO. JPost

UNESCO Rewrites History: Denies Jewish, Christian Ties To Temple Mount

Israel suspended cooperation with UNESCO Friday after the UN cultural organisation adopted two resolutions on the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

The United Nations’ cultural agency (UNESCO) on Thursday passed a draft resolution which describes the Temple Mount as holy to Muslims alone and casts doubt on the link between Judaism and the Western Wall, a decision Israel called “absurd.”  This is rabid hatred and anti-Semitism and anti-Christian.

Israel is referred to throughout as the “occupying power”.  UNESCO demands not to use the term Temple Mount, but to refer to the site only as Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Western Wall as the Al-Buraq Plaza, that negates Jewish ties the the Temple Mount and Western wall, and from its historical roots as the location of the First and Second Temples.

Paris (AFP) – UNESCO’s decision-making body will next week consider two new resolutions on “Occupied Palestine”, six months after a similar text angered Israel.

The two resolutions, put forward by several Arab countries including Egypt, Lebanon and Algeria, were adopted Thursday at committee stage by the Paris-based organisation.

Participants said 24 votes were cast in favor and six against with 26 abstentions and two absentees.

The terms are the same as those used in a resolution mid-April by UNESCO’s Executive Board.

On that occasion, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the resolution as “yet another absurd UN decision”…

U.S. lawmakers urge UNESCO not to rewrite Jerusalem’s history

U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) are leading a bipartisan effort to stop the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) from passing a resolution that would describe the Temple Mount and the Western Wall as holy Muslim sites, thus diminishing the historic and verified Jewish and Christian ties to the Old City of Jerusalem.

Ros-Lehtinen, Cruz and 37 other lawmakers signed a letter to members of the Executive Board of UNESCO, urging them to vote against the resolution.  Read letter at INN

In April, Yesh Atid chairman and former Finance Minister Yair Lapid wrote:

“This decision is a shameful attempt to rewrite history, rewrite reality as part of the ongoing political campaign against Israel and the Jewish people,” Lapid stated in the letter. “Palestinian incitement regarding the Temple Mount – which has been proven time and time again… has already cost the lives of dozens of Israelis.”

“Your decision only serves to extend this current wave of terror and will only lead to the deaths of more innocent people,” he continued. “You cannot evade this responsibility.”

German TV Ad Funded By UNESCO Exhorts German Women To Wear The Hijab

The plunging neckline and slit up to her thighs Islamic’s would deem an immodest display of flesh and she is not wearing a hijab but a scarf.

The comment posted by Paula B. “prancing around with that plunging neckline and slit up to her thighs, she looks more like a white sex slave than a woman in Islamic dress”

The woman is not wearing a hijab. She’s just wearing a scarf over part of her hair. Much of her hair is showing. Some of her bare leg shows also as she struts around. All these elements of the presentation would make it absolutely unacceptable to the Islamic hardliners that she (and the German government, and UNESCO) are demanding that the Germans tolerate.

The tolerance is, as always, one way: no one asks Muslims to “enjoy difference, start tolerance.” Non-Muslims are told, on pain of charges of “racism” and “hate,” that they must tolerate an authoritarian, supremacist ideology whose adherents aim to take power, and once they do, will not accord non-Muslims that same tolerance.
